Weathering the Storm

Hello, all!

I hope you all are doing well. The last few weeks have been crazy, and it seems like things are going to get worse before they get better. If you are fortunate enough to be home now, or if you have to go out and face the public still, know that my heart goes out to you and that I am keeping you in my thoughts for sure.

The second edition of Haywood Micaye has officially been released. Hopefully, it’s something to offer you a bit of a break from the craziness of the world. As I mentioned in a previous post, if you purchased a copy of the book already, please send me an email and I’ll get you connected with a free copy of the new edition. (haywoodmicayefree@gmail.com).

We’re living in a strange time in history right now. Things are happening right now that people haven’t ever seen the likes of before, and it’s all a lot to take in. I will refrain from sharing articles or infographics because there are plenty already in circulation, but I do want to urge you to practice social distancing, or do one better and stay home as much as you can. Take the free time and devote it to a crafts project you’ve been putting off, or home improvement, or, if you feel so inclined, write a novel. Wash your hands. Call your loved ones and check in on them.

We’ll get through this.

Writing a Novel in Thirty Days

Hello, all!

Happy December! It would seem that we are in the midst of the holiday season, and so here’s wishing you the best.

In my previous blog post, I talked a lot about my recent move to Virginia with my husband. Since then, we’ve been settling in and falling back into the groove of life. Admittedly, this proved more difficult for me than I imagined it would be. (more…)

The Moving Post

Hello, all!

I don’t write a lot about my personal life here, for a variety of reasons that boil down to me not necessarily seeing a need to write about it here. That being said, this summer has brought with it a lot of change for me in my life, and now that the dust is somewhat settled, I would like to take an opportunity to write about it now.

Long story short, I moved to Virginia. But, if you’re interested in the long story, feel free to read onward.

A Brief Moment of Introspection

Hello there, friends!

Happy Sunday! I hope the weekend has treated you well. I’ve come back recently from a two-week vacation and have spent the weekend recharging and getting back into the groove of work. Life goes on, I suppose.

Anyway, I was feeling introspective this morning and wanted to write a little on here to kind of update you all on the goings-on in my life. There’s a lot of change on the way. (more…)

The Last Few Weeks…

Hello there, friends!

It’s been two months since the publication of Haywood Micaye. I want to use this blog post to catch you all up to speed with everything that has happened since release day, and also to tell you about some project ideas I have for the future. But before that, I would like to take a moment to urge you all to drop a review on Amazon or Goodreads if you’ve purchased the novel, read it, and loved it. Or even if you didn’t love it. I’d love to hear from you all, and one of the easiest ways for you to tell me and everyone else what you think of the book is to leave a review.

And now that my shameless plug is out of the way… Let’s talk about the exciting news!

Reflecting on the Journey

Hello there, friends!

I experienced something strange the other morning. After I prepared myself a cup of coffee and sat down to do some writing, I instinctively guided my mouse over to my Haywood Micaye file and opened it up. I realized what I had done and kind of stared at my screen for a moment.  I indulged in a somewhat cinematic moment as I closed the word document and took a meditative sip of my coffee. This was my first real pang of “empty nest syndrome”.

There’s a constant problem, not only in writing, but in all forms of art, really, be it painting, music, film, or anything beyond that. And that’s the issue of determining when you’ve “finished” a project. When it comes to Haywood Micaye, I feel that I have reached a finish line. (more…)

Just the Links, Ma’am

Hello there, friends!

The release of Haywood Micaye is a little less than two weeks away! I’m so ridiculously stoked! I’m going to try and contain my excitement in order to keep this post brief, but I wanted to remind you all to pre-order your copy of the book if you hadn’t already.

“Ah, yes,” you say. “I’m curious about where specifically I can pre-order my copy of Haywood Micaye. What do you suggest?”

Well, dear friend, it’s going to be released to a wide variety of online outlets, so you have options as far as which shop you prefer to order from. Try these links on for size:
