About

Hello there, friends!

My name is Ashlynne Doyle, and I’m so excited to meet you. I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you so have a better understanding as to who I am.

First and foremost, I am an author. I started writing back in fifth grade at the prompting of my teacher, and since then it has been my passion. I have tried my hand at numerous different projects so far, from short stories to novels to screenplays and anything else I can try. I am a participant in the NaNoWriMo writing contest, and though I haven’t always “won”, I’ve enjoyed the experience every year.

My career as a writer has only just begun, but the things I have achieved are all projects I am proud to have been a part of. I have contributed to Volumes two, three, and four of the Budding Bards anthology series, a teen anthology edited by USA Today Bestselling Author Angela Roquet. I also have had work featured in Chaos Cocktail: 13 Fantasy Bar Brawls. I have made appearances at numerous book signings and poetry readings. In January of 2019, I published my first novel, Haywood Micaye.

I’ve read posts from several blogs over the years, and like many other people, the idea of maintaining one myself sounds fun. From the author-career perspective, I want to have a link to anyone even vaguely interested in the things I make. My dream is to have an Amanda Palmer-esque relationship with my fans, complete with the openness and unity as a big, undefinable family. I don’t want to be a two-dimensional name on a bookshelf; I want my people to know me as a human being.

The creation of this blog served as a landmark for a big stage in my life: the process of getting my first novel published. Thus far, this has been my outlet for giving information on crowdfunding efforts related to the work and for general updates as the book is being produced. But now that we have achieved this milestone, I plan to use this blog to tell you about my future projects and to give insight into the life of a budding author.

I am very happy to finally be joining the world of blogging. I also hope that we get to know each other a little more as we progress on this weird journey together. And, of course, I hope you enjoy the blog.

Until next time,
Ashlynne
