Hello there, friends!
I just spent the better portion of this afternoon updating the blog, and after all that time I am now very satisfied with how it all turned out! Not only did I change the banner (finally) and went for a new background, but the home page now features several pictures with quick links to the important parts of the blog.
But, while I am proud of my handiwork, there is a more important feature that I am excited to start using.
Beginning very soon, I am going to be using the blog as a means to release some short stories and other works of mine for you to read and hopefully enjoy!
Since Haywood Micaye isn’t going to be released until 2017, the thought process was that I could give you some smaller works to help bridge the gap in a sense. The last time I did something like this was in middle school when I would post semi-regularly to a website where writers (generally other people in middle school or high school looking for audiences) could post their stories and receive reviews from other users by screen name or anonymously. Granted, the things I will post here will neither be from middle school nor quite that bad, but the point still stands. Presently, I have a few things that I am considering for upload, but for now I need to polish things and go from there.
Speaking of Haywood Micaye: I have successfully received all the funds from the Indiegogo project, and the only thing left to do now it to wait for the Paypal money to transfer to my bank account and also to deposit the offline funds that you guys have donated. Beyond that, I have done some job searching to help raise the rest of what is needed, and I think I may have found one, which is great.
As far as the actual writing of Haywood, I am going to work on some editing over the next week or so and then send it off to another beta reader, and then after that we’ll reevaluate what needs to be done to get it further ready for publication.
I’ll admit, there hasn’t been a whole awful lot of excitement in the days post-campaign, and I’m sorry if these posts start to sound repetitive. If you guys have any questions about what’s going on or are curious about how certain processes work, please feel free to comment or message me on Twitter and I will answer you or create a post explaining it if I feel a lot of people could benefit from it.
Anyways, thanks for sticking around through the excitement and the not-so-exciting bits. Have a happy rest of your Valentine’s Day!
Until next time,
Ashlynne
